CEM Discover and MARS 5 Microwave Systems
Fellow ChE Lauren Krough poses next to the CEM Discover (smaller of the two units) and MARS 5 microwave ovens. Both microwave systems were custom equipped for silica and zeolite synthesis experiments. The Discover system provides a uniform circular microwave field around the sample while the MARS 5 system provides precise control over reactor conditions.
